Terms and conditions
These terms apply to work Solar Revive does for you. They are written to be short and plain. If anything is unclear, ask before you book.
Who we are
Solar Revive is the trading name of Duncan Lowe, a sole trader electrician working in Worcestershire. Contact: 07988 070768 or solarrevive@outlook.com.
What we do
We work on solar PV systems that are already installed: servicing, fault finding, remedial work (including supplying and fitting replacement parts), drone roof checks, thermal inspections, and independent snagging of new installs. We work in Worcestershire only, including Worcester, Droitwich Spa, Bromsgrove, Kidderminster, Stourport-on-Severn, Malvern, Evesham, Pershore, Redditch, Upton-upon-Severn and Tenbury Wells.
We do not sell or install new solar systems, and we do not issue MCS certificates or installation paperwork. Snagging is an independent inspection for you, not MCS sign-off.
Quotes and prices
- Fixed prices shown on this website apply to the work described. Anything else is quoted before we start.
- Fault finding is charged per half day (or part of a half day), at the rates shown on this website. If we think it will take longer than the time you have booked, we will tell you and get your agreement before carrying on.
- Remedial work is quoted after diagnosis. The quote includes any parts needed. Once you approve the quote, we supply and fit the parts ourselves. Nothing goes ahead until you approve the price.
- Written quotes are valid for 30 days. If a quote has expired, we recheck parts prices before any work goes ahead.
- If we find something on the day that changes the job, we will talk to you before doing any extra work.
Booking, cancelling and rescheduling
- You can cancel or move a visit with no notice period and no cancellation fee. Just let us know by phone, WhatsApp or email.
- If you are a consumer and you agree the work away from our premises (for example at your home, or by phone, WhatsApp or email), you have the right to cancel within 14 days of agreeing it, without giving a reason, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. To cancel, tell us clearly by phone, WhatsApp or email. You can use the cancellation form below, but you do not have to.
- If you want us to start within those 14 days, please ask us in writing (WhatsApp or email is fine) and confirm you understand that once the work is fully finished you can no longer cancel. If you cancel after we have started, you pay a proportionate amount of the agreed price for the work done up to the time you tell us. Once the work is fully finished, your right to cancel ends.
- If you cancel, we refund anything you have paid (less a proportionate amount for any work done at your request) without delay, and within 14 days of the day you tell us. We refund using the same method you paid with (for example, by bank transfer if you paid by transfer), unless you agree otherwise, and we never charge a fee for refunds.
- We may need to reschedule for bad weather or safety reasons, for example wind or rain that makes a drone flight or roof access unsafe. We will let you know as early as we can.
Access and safety
- Please make sure we have safe access to the inverter, isolators, meter and any other parts of the system we need, and tell us about anything we should know, such as roof condition, pets or site rules.
- Any information you have on the system helps, such as the inverter make, the installer’s paperwork and generation data.
- We may decline or stop work that is not safe to carry out. We will explain why.
- Where we need to fly a drone, we will do so safely and in line with the rules that apply to drone flights.
Payment
- Domestic customers pay on completion of the work.
- Commercial and working farm customers pay within 14 days of the invoice date.
- Utility-scale customers pay on the terms agreed in the quote or purchase order, and no longer than 30 days from the invoice date.
- You can pay by bank transfer or cash.
- We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is charged on our prices.
- If a business customer pays late, we may charge statutory interest at 8% a year above the Bank of England base rate, plus fixed compensation of £40 (debts under £1,000), £70 (£1,000 to £9,999.99) or £100 (£10,000 or more), plus any further reasonable costs of recovering the debt, under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. This does not apply to domestic customers.
- See Reports below.
Reports
- Written reports (service, inspection, thermal, drone, snagging and diagnostic reports) are sent once the invoice is paid in full.
- If you have raised a genuine problem with our work, we will not hold back the report over the amount in dispute.
- If we find anything unsafe, we tell you straight away on the day and make it safe where we can, whatever the payment situation.
What our findings cover
- Inspections, drone checks and thermal imaging are visual and non-invasive. We do not take the system or the roof apart unless agreed.
- A drone check is a visual check only, not a structural roof survey.
- A report shows the condition of the system on the day we visit. It is not a guarantee of future performance.
Parts and warranties
- Parts we supply and fit carry the manufacturer’s own warranty. We will help you make a claim where we can, but the manufacturer decides on warranty claims.
- If you think there is a problem with our workmanship, please tell us as soon as you can after noticing it. We will put it right at no extra cost, within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to you. If that is not possible, or we do not manage it, we will reduce the price by an appropriate amount, which can be a full refund, paid within 14 days of agreeing it.
Our liability
- We carry out work with reasonable care and skill.
- We are not responsible for problems that were already present and not part of the work you asked us to do, or for faults in equipment we did not supply or work on.
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
- If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
Cancellation form
If you are a consumer and want to cancel within 14 days, you can copy this into an email or WhatsApp message. You do not have to use it.
